Until last year, the General Sam Houston Folk Festival has been an annual event since 1988, held on the grounds of the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. Thousands of people attend the annual festival each year with the Friday designated as school day.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the 34th annual General Sam Houston Folk Festival, scheduled for May 2021, has also been canceled due to the on-going situation with COVID-19.

We value the health and safety of our visitors, festival participants, and staff. The event will not be rescheduled for 2021.

Festival participants will be contacted by their board coordinator. Please direct any questions to 936-294-1832 or email mlb044@shsu.edu.
